Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4, 1954. O'Hara is the proud winner of numerous awards which include an award called the Genie Award. In 2018, she was elected to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara made her debut as an actor in 1974 as in The Second City, an Improv comedy group located in Toronto. She was a part of the principal cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) alongside John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara as well as Candy began work in Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara won an Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for her writing in the Outstanding category for Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board which was headed by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
